Nook, l’e-reader diventa touch
Barnes&Noble annuncia il suo primo e-reader con tecnologia e-ink e display touch-screen. Cosa farà ora Amazon?
È stata una settimana densa di avvenimenti per il settore degli e-reader. Prima la notizia del sorpasso definitivo dei libri in formato digitale su quelli cartacei, poi l’uscita di una versione scontata del Kindle grazie agli annunci pubblicitari; a completare il quadro arriva ora l’annuncio da parte di Barnes&Noble di un dispositivo a metà strada fra il clasico lettore di e-book e il tablet.
Si tratta del nuovo Nook, un lettore che punta a fondere tecnologia e-ink e touch-screen per godere di tutti i vantaggi della lettura su inchiostro elettronico ma al tempo stesso sfruttare un’interfaccia utente praticamente senza tasti (ce n’è solo uno).
Sulla carta, o meglio sul display, la soluzione dovrebbe garantire una maggiore versatilità quando si sfogliano le pagine ma anche in tutte quelle operazioni che richiedono un intervento sul testo: sottolineare frasi, ricercare parole, tradurre.
Costerà 139 dollari, praticamente l’equivalente del Kindle nella sua versione base.
A proposito di Kindle, Amazon ha sempre preso le distanza dal mondo dei tablet ma le ultime indiscrezioni parlano di una nuova famiglia di dispositivi touch-screen (da 7 a 10 pollici) più vicini all’iPad che al Kindle. Il sistema operativo sarà con ogni probabilità Android ma l’aspetto più interessante potrebbe riguardare il prezzo che, secondo i ben informati, si dovrebbe assestare fra i 350 e i 450 dollari.
