Celf: forum per Linux nell’elettronica di consumo
Otto compagnie protagoniste del mercato dell’elettronica di consumo (Ce, Consumer Electronics) - Matsushita, Sony, Hitachi, Nec, Samsung, Philips, Sharp e Toshiba - hanno annunciato la nascita del Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (Celf), organizzazione che ha lo scopo di promuovere Linux sui prodotti Ce.
In particolare, il Celf avrà il compito di discutere e formalizzare gli aspetti fondamentali che devono caratterizzare le estensioni di Linux destinate ai prodotti Ce. L’organizzazione si occuperà anche della valutazione delle soluzioni open source proposte per soddisfare tali caratteristiche. Agli attuali membri del Celf dovrebbe aggiungersi in futuro anche Ibm.
