Il nome anagrafico come omaggio o dichiarazione d’intenti: ai tempi di Internet tutto è lecito e possibile
È un cambio di nome quantomeno curioso quello della statunitense Jennifer Thornburg che d’ora in poi su tutti i documenti risulta chiamarsi… Cutout Dissection.com
La Thornburg ha adottato il nuovo nome -e le difficoltà che ne derivano nella vita di tutti i giorni- per sostenere la lotta alla vivisezione in quanto attivista per l’organizzazione animalista Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Al sito di quest’ultima si viene rimandati se si digita in un qualsiasi browser il nome di Jennifer per esteso, cutoutdissection.com, e vi si trova anche una spiegazione della scelta.
Jennifer in realtà non è la prima nè l’unica persona ad aver richiesto ed ottenuto variazioni anagrafiche poco ortodosse. Nel 2001 Scott Nall, per il suo trentesimo compleanno, ha ottenuto di chiamarsi Optimus Prime, come il camion-robot eroe dei Transformers, nome con cui è anche andato in Iraq con la Guardia Nazionale degli Usa. Nel luglio del 2007 Jason Michael Burrows ha fatto una scelta speculare, diventando Jason Megatron Burrows, ostentando il certificato su Flickr.
L’ispirazione primaria della Thornburg è però probabilmente quella della vegana Karin Robertson che nel 2003 è diventata Goveg.com, assumendo il nome di un sito omonimo che si scaglia contro il consumo di carne ed è anch’esso legato alle iniziative di Peta.
