YouTube: un concorso con il Sundance Film Festival
Seconda edizione per Project:Direct, i cortometraggi indipendenti vengono premiati dalla giuria del Sundance e dagli utenti del network
YouTube continua a puntare sul Cinema indipendente, questa volta in collaborazione con il Sundance Film Festival e con Moviefone grazie al lancio della seconda edizione di Project:Direct.
Il concorso è mirato ai filmmaker statunitensi, inglesi, canadesi, italiani, brasiliani, francesi e spagnoli che potranno inviare entro il 14 dicembre un cortometraggio di un massimo di durata di 5 minuti (crediti inclusi), in lingua inglese o sottotitolati in lingua inglese.
Secondo le linee guida, i corti dovranno includere alcuni oggetti: un telefono rosso (o la sua rappresentazione) e altri due oggetti a scelta tra quelli elencati nella lista ufficiale pubblicata sul canale dedicato. Gli oggetti in lista celebrano i film che hanno fatto la storia del Sundance.
Dal 15 al 24 dicembre la giuria del Sundance sceglierà tra i corti inviati i 10 finalisti e i 10 supplementari. Dal 27 dicembre al 3 gennaio saranno invece gli utenti di YouTube a decretare i vincitori, che varranno annunciati intorno al 5 gennaio.
Il vincitore riceverà in premio un viaggio per due interamente spesato per seguire il Sundance Film Festival (17-21 gennaio ‘09), durante il quale verrà presentato il corto.
Al secondo classificato spetterà un assegno di 2.500 dollari, al terzo uno di 1.000 dollari.
Il progetto è presentato su YouTube da Darren Aronofsky, regista del recentemente acclamato “The Wrestler“.
