BlueGriffon. l’editor web basato su Firefox punta sui nuovi standard
Il progetto per un nuovo editor web “powered by Mozilla” va avanti e dedica le sue attenzioni alle nuove tecnologie della Rete, fornendo più controllo su CSS, SVG e tag dell’HTML5
Tra i software di web editing visuale “Powered by Mozilla” Bluegriffon appare come il progetto più ambizioso e con più lavoro da fare.
Se Kompozer ha puntato più realisticamente a proseguire e migliorare il codice già disponibile in NVU, l’obiettivo di BlueGriffon è stato da subito quello di diventare un “web editor di nuova generazione” al passo con le ultime tecnologie di Internet.
Non è un compito facile ma da quanto si è visto nelle ultime settimane potrebbe anche riuscirci e diventare la soluzione open source di riferimento.
Mentre il fratello maggiore Kompozer da un po’ sembra languire, BlueGriffon sta facendo passi in avanti aggiungendo il supporto a diverse caratteristiche avanzate del web.
Dagli inizi di settembre a oggi ha infatti aggiunto uno dopo l’altro:
- controlli per creare sfondi e poi gradienti colorati via CSS3
- la possibilità di fare editing dei file vettoriali SVG, incorporando il codice dell’add-on SVGEdit
- una finestra di dialogo per impostare in maniera semplice e interattiva le opzioni del tag <video> dell’HTML5
- un’interfaccia per scrivere equazioni in ASCII e vederle trasformate in MathML sulla pagina web
Siamo ovviamente ancora molto lontani dalla potenza e raffinatezza di Dreamweaver e BlueGriffon appare ancora abbastanza grezzo. Quelli delle utlime settimane sono però di segnali estremamente positivi per chi preferisce non usare un editor di codice e cerca invece uno strumento gratuito (e aperto) che offra facilità d’uso e versatilità nella creazione o modifica di pagine web.
Al momento non esiste una versione stabile di BlueGriffon e nemmeno una release vera e propria. Chi vuole provare il programma può scaricare e usare -a proprio rischio e pericolo- la versione compilata più recente dal server, per Windows, Linux (Kubuntu) oppure Mac OS X.
